Bayelsa teachers recruitment to be completed soon as first batch of successful applicants to receive appointment letters in August.
According to the Chairman of the Bayelsa State Post-Primary Schools Board (PPSB) has stated that all is now set for the completion of the ongoing teachers recruitment exercise which began about a year ago.
Recall that over 21,000 candidates applied for the teacher job last year. We have a mandate from the state government to employ only 950 secondary school teachers based on the needs assessment of existing vacancies in public schools across the state. 7000 applicants were shortlisted for oral interviews in April, 2024 after the written recruitment test in January this year.
Kindly know that Bayelsa State Post primary teachers final lists is for those who made it in the examination and the oral interviews for the following subject positions;

NOTE: that you don’t get your letters among the first batch doesn’t mean it is over. We are currently typing the letters for all 950 successful applicants and this shall take some time again.

The PPSB Chairman also disclosed that immediately the recruitment of subject teachers is concluded, the board shall begin the process of recruiting another batch of 600 language teachers in Izon, French and Chinese which are not part of the 950 subject teachers engaged.
